so this is real baltimore. this is not tourist baltimore. this isn't the baltimore you see when you go to an orioles game or you go to see you know the boat in the water. this is further up the road. this is about 25 to -- i'd say about 25 blocks north. if you made a cross with your hands, this is right in the middle of the city and this is a predominantly black neighborhood. but i wouldn't call this a poor neighborhood. baltimore has a variety of neighborhoods. they go very quickly from wealthy to pretty impoverished. all of a sudden you will be in a poor part of town with a lot of baunled homes. this is not that area. this is actually a pretty busy alive place. this is very close to the city's board of education facility where they run all of their schools. and wendy has something she wants to say. >> we found out what that building is that looks like a residential building. it is. it is the penn north plaza senior building. >> oh dear. oh it is. >> like an old folk's home there so you can imagine the anxiety there tonight as the building

baltimore has problems. you can just go a couple of blocks down the road and you will be in what some people call a bad part of town. a couple more blocks in the good part of town and hard to jenlize. this area is a pretty decent area. it is across the street from a public high school. and when all of this started to begin it was right as school was letting out. wbal 11 up there, the chopper pilot said they watched the kids come out and then go home. in this case they made their way up a very prominent street there. they went into a 7-eleven. we're not totally sure what happened there but there are reports of broken windows. we don't know if looting has occurred. i have seen some through social media reports of a school resource officer's windows broken in his automobile. they then made their way down rister town road. a very big road and what you take to go north-south through the city and of course you can tell that road is shut down and they got to the intersection of gwen falls and people from this area

d as i showed you earlier, there is baltimore and right downtown baltimore right now, there's the moderate rain showers. a ttle bit of a wet field. those will drift out by game time. as you can see, down in the norfolk area and williamsburg and spots like that, there are still some lingering rains. over us, not a drop here in washington. and that's where more of the rains are. as a matter of fact, those areas in green you can see, those are the areas that are under flash flood watches this evening. look at ocean city. yesterday's rains over an inch of rain. little bit of a northeasterly wind. temperatures in the low 80s. here in the portsmouth area look the the rainfall yesterday. 4 1/2 inches of rain and once again it is rather cool there. so overnight tonight, some showers and along the coast. those those areas of low pressure will remain off the coast at the same time. high pressure to our north. and so the result will be a more of a north to northeasterly breeze which will keep us away om t sweltderring heat and humidity. any showers will be staying well to our south even if you folks
